The Letter R

This week we made robots! I collect junk, like empty toilet paper tubes (I save just enough to use for a few projects and toss the rest lol), helped the kids shape aluminum foil around them, and then gave the kids foam stickers and pipe cleaners and let the kids design their own robots.

For songs and movement we sang Row Row Row Your Boat, and ran out of time and weren't able to do our Ribbon Dance. Just attach ribbon to a stick or straw and let the kids move to whatever music you like.

For a snack we had Ritz Bitz crackers, rice cakes and English muffins with raspberry jelly. The second day we had rice cakes, raspberry breakfast bars and talked about what rabbits eat, like carrots and lettuce.

I am pretty sure that we made rabbit ears, but I sure can't find any photos to prove it. :/

For more R movement we moved like robots. I gave commands like, "stop", "go", "sit", etc. It led to lots of giggles and robot play all week at our house. (I found this idea years ago at Child Fun).

We also pretended to rake, roared like lions, hopped like rabbits, and more.
