The Letter K

For letter K we made K Keys. I found key shapes online and traced and cut them out on construction paper. I printed only the K items found at First School. The kids got to color and cut them out and glue onto their keys, We made a keyring out of pipe cleaners.

For our snack we made kabobs. Kids love making kabobs, but watch out because those skewers can be sharp. We also had kiwi. Some of my class had never had kiwi, and some of them didn't like them either. But my kids always love fruit!

We kicked on our masking tape letter K. We also jumped like kangaroos, and tried making our bodies into the shape of a K, which is great for balance.

Another movement game we played was this fun one found at Preschool Education Letter K
Keep It Up   Before hand, blow up a balloon and write the letters Kk on it. Have the children blow up the balloon and tie it shut. The children can now see how long they can keep the balloon up in the air without letting it touch the ground. Every time they touch the balloon, the can say the letter "K".

We colored these cute kangaroos that I found online years ago. The pouch is printed separately and glued on, and comes with a baby joey to put in the pocket. Because I did this activity with 3 year olds, I precut and just let them color them.

We found a few cute songs and poems and such.

Little Kitty                                                                                                                                                    Kitty, kitty, kitty my little one so pretty, pretty

Where is the Kitty?                                                                                                                                    A Kitten is hiding under a chair.
I looked and looked for her everywhere.
Under the table and under the bed
I looked in the corner and when I said,
Come Kitty, come, Kitty, here's milk for you.
Kitty came running and calling "Meow, meow"
